First Time in Las Vegas?
Below is a list of things worth doing as part of your first experience with Las Vegas.
- See the entire Las Vegas Strip, from Mandalay Bay (south end) to Stratosphere (north end). You can walk these four miles or use the Deuce, the double-decker bus. The world-famous Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign is about half-mile south of Mandalay Bay, on Las Vegas Blvd.
- Go to Fremont Street/downtown. In the evening, you can also watch the Fremont St Experience show, on the top of the hour.
- Take a look at the entire Las Vegas valley from the observation deck at Stratosphere, the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris, having a drink on the terrace at Voodoo Lounge on top of Rio, or take a helicopter tour.
- Have the Las Vegas buffet experience.
- See a show.
- See one or as many as you wish free attractions, such as the fountain show at Bellagio, the Sirens of TI at Treasure Island, the volcano at Mirage, and the Fremont Street Experience show downtown.
- If your time and budget allow, venture outside Las Vegas: Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon, Bonnie Springs/Old Nevada, Mt Charleston, Grand Canyon.
- Check out one or more casinos off-Strip.
- Go to a night club.
- Shop.
- Enjoy thrill rides (roller coasters or the three thrill rides on top of Stratosphere or skydiving) or, for a different kind of thrill, a gondola ride at the Venetian.
- See art.
- Take photos of the Las Vegas landmarks: Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park, Fremont Street, Stratosphere, Mirage, Caesars Palace, Flamingo, Paris, New York, MGM Grand, Tropicana, Excalibur, Luxor, The Little Church of the West wedding chapel, the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign, Hoover Dam ....
- Play golf.
- Las Vegas has 320 days of sunshine; swimming pools abound.
- Get a free photo in front of a real one-million dollars at Binion's .
