WeddingsLas Vegas has also been nicknamed The Wedding (Marriage) Capital of the World. More than 100,000 marriage licenses are issued each year (125,967 in 2004). The most popular wedding day is Valentine's Day. The only requirement to become married is ... a marriage license. Get it at the Clark County Marriage License Bureau, at 309 South 3rd St (at Clark). The office is open between 8 am until 10 pm, including weekends and holidays. No blood tests are required. The license fee is $60, cash only. Both parties must be present to get the license. Adults 18 years of age and older need no consent. Proof of age may be required. Persons age 16 and 17 may marry if consent is given by either parent in person or through a notarized affidavit signed by either parent when not present. This notarized affidavit of consent must contain the birth date of the minor, state the relationship of the party giving consent, and be written in English. A person less than 16 years of age may marry only if he or she has the consent of a parent or legal guardian and authorization from a Nevada District Court. The court may authorize the marriage of persons less than 16 years of age in extraordinary circumstances if the court finds that the marriage will serve the best interests of such persons and they have the required consent. Note that a divorce must be final in the state where it was granted before applying for a marriage license. The date of the final decree and the city and state are required.
