THE COW PARADEThe "world's largest public art event" took place in Las Vegas between October 2002 and January 2003. Local artists painted the cows which were eventually auctioned off with much of the proceeds going to charities. Such cows also appeared in Chicago, New York, Kansas City, Houston, and London. THE GIFT OF LIGHTSIt started in 2001, with 50 displays and 1 million lights. 60,000 people drove by to see the lights. In 2006 . The Gift of Lights is being held at Sunset Park (2601 E Sunset) through January 3, 2010. In 2006, there were more than 8 million lights and more than 300 displays. In 2009, there are more than 400 displays with LED lighting. Open: Sunday through Thursday: 5-9 pm; Friday, Saturday, and holidays: 5-10 pm. Admission is $15 per vehicle and $1 per person on a bus.
