Comps is short for complimentaries, free things you get from casinos depending on the amount of money you gamble. Such freebies include drinks, meals, lodging, air fare, show tickets, limos, golf.

Free drinks is the most common type of comping. Cocktail waitresses are in all casinos walking around tables and slot machines calling "cocktails."

If you join a casino's club, which is free, use your member card while playing slot machines and the casino will know how much you gamble. As you acquire "points," various comps will become available to you.
